REASON NINE
Day 1 (DAY OF TRANSPORT)
16:00 to 16:30 We will pick you up from your hotel in order to go to the Bus Stop. Once at the Bus Stop we will get on the bus that will actually leave at 17:30-18:00. Do not expect a comfy bus as the buses going to Rurrenabaque are not necessarily new.
INCLUDED: transfer hotel/bus stop, ticket bus La Paz/Rurrenabaque.
NOT INCLUDED: meals: dinner, water, snacks, drinks.
Day 2 (1st day of Deep Jungle Classic)
Arrival in Rurrenabaque will be between 05:00 and 07:00 a.m.
If you arrive earlier than 07:00 a.m. please wait until 07:00 a.m. One of our guides will meet you at the Bus Terminal in order to start the tour.
Starting from Rurre?
If you start this tour from Rurre our guide will pick you up from your hotel from 07:45 to 08:00 a.m. You must have had breakfast before pick up.
08:00
The tour begins with a 1.5 -2-hour car trip from Rurre to the edge of the Park at Tumupasa (North west of Rurre), In Tumupasa our guides will shop for the food for the three days (15-20 min) and allow you to stretch your legs.
10:00 -10:30
From Tumupasa transport is followed by a 1.5-2 hour car trip to San José de Uchupiamonas, a community located in the heart of Madidi. (If it rains, sometimes, the trip may take an hour longer or even longer if the water level in the rivers has risen too high to pass by car).
Upon arrival in San Jose, lunch will be provided at the house of the guide.
After lunch the group will hike to Tuichi river just to cross it (40-50 min), after crossing Tuichi River the group will get some Machete training and then hike in the Rainforest to the shores of a little River where our guides will set the camp for the next 2 nights) Our guides will need time to set up the camp which consists of clearing up the area, get some sticks for the roof, tie up the boxed mosquito nets and then start cooking
In the night you will be taken on a night walk exploring the Rainforest in the dark (our guides will decide whether doing the night walk this night or next day) .

DAY 3 (2nd day of Deep Jungle Classic)
On this day we will walk 5-6-7 hours continuously depending on your pace. Start close to 09:00 a.m.
We’ll only have breakfast and dinner, so we strongly recommend you to take with you lots of snacks at the stops during the hike and for lunch time.
The surrounding jungle teems with life, echoing the vibrancy of the eternity. Birds call from the canopy above and the tracks of animals reminds you of the wildness of this Deep Rainforest.
Around 16:00 We will come back to the same camp in order to head back to San José next day.

DAY 4 ( 3rd day of Deep Jungle Classic)
09:00 We will have our last 1 hour hiking to Tuichi River.
Upon arrival at the shores of the River the group will wait some minutes for the boat to come for crossing Tuichi River and then hike the last hour to San José
11:00 traditional early lunch In San José.
12:00 Car San José/Tumupasa 1.5-2 hrs.
14:00 Car Tumupasa/Rurrenabaque 2 hrs.
We expect to arrive in Rurrenabaque around 16:00 or earlier.
The car will take you to a hostel where you can get wifi, take a shower or just relax in the hummocks until it is time to go to the Bus Terminal, We will send to your whatsapp the bus ticket to come back to La Paz. Beer or drinks (not included). Room is not included either.
19:00 (may be earlier/later) Bus to La Paz.
Clients must organise transfer to the bus terminal on their own.
You can leave the hostel at 18:30 as the Bus terminal is just 10 min away. It is very easy to get a taxi (motor bikes 10 Bs per person), outside the hostel or ask the receptionist to call a taxi for you.
NOTE that upon arrival in Rurrenabaque, if you decide to stay longer in Rurre on that day, you will lose the bus ticket back to La Paz, no chance to change the bus tickets with last minute notice. However your bus ticket to La Paz can be arranged for any day you want if you tell your trip organiser before the tour has started.
19:00 Bus
INCLUDED: transport San José/Tumupasa, transport Tumupasa-Rurrenabaque, meals: 1 breakfast-1 lunch. Bus ticket Rurrenabaque/La Paz, hostel to spend some hours until bus leaves.
NOT INCLUDED: transfer hostel/bus terminal, dinner, water, snacks, drinks.
DAY 5
07:00 Arrive early in the morning in La Paz.
INCLUDED: no inclusions.
NOT INCLUDED: transfer Bus Stop in La Paz/Hotel, water, snacks, drinks.
WALKING STICKS:
Our guides will produce a walking stick from the jungle.
OUR GUIDES:
Guiding is in Spanish, we have local true Jungle Guides who were born in the Jungle with deep knowledge of the Rainforest. Explanations provided are absolutely understandable. However if your level of spanish is not fairly decent, understanding can be a problem. Nevertheless scenery is unique so it makes the trip worthwhile doing it.
WATER?
It is highly recommended to bring a Camel bag, water will be taken from the streams or the brown river You must bring with you purifying pills or purifying pump.
LUGGAGE?
Clothing must be chosen very carefully, as light as possible for the 3 days. A zoom call with our organiser is imperative in order to get the right advice on this point. There is a fee of 20 Bs per day to leave a big bag (rucksack) at the hostel in Rurre. If not, you will always be able to leave your heavy stuff at the house of the guide in San Jose at no cost.
LOAD
You will carry your stuff plus the foam rolling mattress and the sleeping bag.
CAMERAS & POWER
You have no place with power access to recharge camera batteries once you get to the Jungle, so please make sure your batteries are well charged or better yet bring an extra mobile device, extra battery or Power Bank.
BUS RURRE – LA PAZ
The tour includes a public Semi Cama bus with reclining seats but not full Cama comfort, as Full Cama buses are erratic, you can check with Deep Rainforest advisors for availability upon arrival in Rurrenabaque and upgrade it for $7 usd if available. Note that neither bus type includes toilets.
