Mina San Francisco – Pinaya 4 days
(Good for climbing Illimani 6439m)
Illimani is another hard & difficult mountain to climb 6439 m . jIf you are not fit you must add one or two extra days above 3500 m either in a City or doing a Trek. Ask about it in order to extend your acclimatising trek before undertaking this challenging climb.
1st day.- 07:00 pick up from the Hotel.
2:30 min Spectacular drive to Mina San Francisco. Scenic drive where you will get to see beautiful views of the City to then see Palca Canyon and the Illimani Valley. Mururata Mountain will appear at the end of the drive. We will drive to 4.400m. Scenery is simply amazing from the beginning to the end.
After setting up the tents at Mina San Francisco we’ll walk up to a pass4.900 m. This ascent is normally done in max 2 hrs. But remember your doing an acclimatising trek so we will use all afternoon to walk up to the pass and explore the area.
2nd day.- MINA SAN FRANCISCO – WILA KHOTA
Now we will start the walk through Mururata massif with amazing views of Mururata mountain We will camp near “Cerro Wila Khota” before the pass “Abra de Pacuani”. 4-6 hrs walk
3rd day.-WILA KHOTA – PUNKHUYU
On this day we will walk up to the impressive pass called Cumbre de Pacoani. From here we get beautiful views of Illimani and Murarata mountains. Drop down to camp at Punkhuyu. 5-7 hrs walk
4th day.- PUNKHUYU – ESTANCIA UNA – LA PAZ
After an early breakfast we head towards Estancia Una. There our private transport will be waiting for us to take us back to La Paz. 4-6 hrs walk
Those combining this beautiful trek with Illimani Climbing programme will meet the guide to then follow the climbing programme.
*Times for departures, meals and activities may vary as they depend on different factors. The guide will tell the group every morning about the day programme.

3 nights accommodation in tents, camping mattress, local guide, meals 3 B – 4 L – 3 D, mules 10 kgs weight limit per person.
*Walking sticks, purification pills, *sleeping bag, water, *water bottle, drinks, cigarettes, snacks, entrance fee-50 Bs, tips.
*Some items not included can be rented from our company.
AVAILABLE: English Speaking guide or translator (additional 35 usd to be paid by the whole group, not per person) when ever we have one request for English Speaking guide or translator, the rest of the group will pay for it.
PORTERS, MULES, DONKEYS?
If you have more luggage than our weight limit (10 kg), you will have to hire another mule at an extra cost. Extra pack animal 15 usd per day
Our guide is the cook at the same time
Big meals are breakfast and dinner. We provide massive sandwiches for lunch though.
Veggie food is a step better than basic.
You must bring all of what you can for the entire programme.
