Condoriri Massif 4 days (Good for climbing Pequeño Alpamayo or Condoriri)
Good for climbing Pequeño Alpamayo or Condoriri)
This trek can be done just as a normal trek to enjoy the Andes. Perfect acclimatising trek for those with no experience on Ice Climbing, good for those wanting to get acclimatised gradually. Good for those with plenty of time.
Since the first night you sleep above 4000 m. We camp at one place for three nights and from there we go in different directions exploring the area.
This trek gives you the chance to trek up to a top 5200 m high and explore better the area.
Glacier exploration included.
1st day.- 08:00 pick up from the Hotel. 2:15 min drive to the starting point and free time in Tuni until lunch is ready. Tuni is a little village in the Andes, just a few families live there and that is the place where we arrange donkeys for your expedition. That means that for your entire Tour, you will only carry a small day pack with your water and Camera
14:30 We will start walking from 4.300 to 4:700. We will see two high Andean lakes and camp by the last one, a beautiful lake called Black Lagoon and meeting place for the Lords of the ancient times. This sacred place is where some gods were petrified during a meeting (total walk 3 hrs)
2nd day.- After the night above 4000 and after a good rest, wake up time is flexible. After breakfast we will walk to Pequeño AlPamayo Glacier. It takes about 1 ½ hrs to get there. Once we get to the glacier we give you free time to enjoy the area. After having lunch we go back to the campsite. We get in our tents and just enjoy the last hours of the afternoon.
3rd day.- We can consider that after two days above 4000 m you will be ready to walk up to a peak (not snow capped) 5240 m. Here you will have one of the most beautiful views of the Royal Range. Even if it is not in your plans to climb, you will enjoy this day because you will feel how it feels like to be above 5000 m.
5-7 hrs. walk
4th day.-After breakfast, we will pack to head back to Tuni where our private transport will be waiting for us to take us back to La Paz.
We get to La Paz around 4 p.m.
