1st night.- 20:30
Meeting time at the Bus Terminal. 21:00 Departure on Cama Bus to Uyuni(Cama means the most comfy wide and riclining seats with really good leg room for guys 1,90 +). Seats are arranged by us and our guide will meet you very early upon arrival in Uyuni.
Departure from La Paz is completely assisted by us.
1st day.- 06:00
You will be taken to our office in Uyuni to leave your rucksacks. After that, breakfast will be provided. Our guide will give a briefing of the tour and you will have some free time until departure to do last shopping before departing. (spirits & canned beer allowed!)
10:30 Departure in 4 x 4. We will first visit the curious Train Cemetery where you will start getting involved on this incredible country full of history & tradditions. Then will be time to visit the Salt Factories, (here is where we usually serve lunch) after lunch is when we will get into the Salt Flat. Stops will be done for you to enjoy this great world wonder. The most stunning white experience on earth!
Funny pictures will be taken by our enthousiastic guides and we will carry on to Fish Island (dry season April to Dec). During wet season we get as far as we can into the Salt Lake until we hit water. It is during wet season that you will experience the MIRROR OF THE WORLD!
16:30 Drive for 2 hrs to the shores of the Salt Lake to then sleep in a hostel made completely of salt bricks.
What’s accommodation like on the first night?
You will be able to get a double or twin room as well as triple or 4 bed dorm for groups of friends. Toilet is shared and showers are available for 10Bs extra. Don’t expect Power Shower. Presure of water is weak so showers will be also weak. No heating available so you must bring your own sleeping bag. 1 duvet & 2 blankets are provided though.
If you want better accommodation for 1st & 2nd night and with better showers & heating, it is available for 200 usd per person extra and only for compact groups(5 people) or private option.
08:00 a.m.Feel like in a rally in the highest part of Atacama Desert, this section of Atacama that belongs to Bolivia is the Highest Desert in the World, colourful lagoons where reality mixes with fiction, Volcanoes, weird rock- formations for a day full of beautiful ALTIPLANO scenery.
17:30 Arrival at Laguna Colorada – Basic lodging ( it means just houses on the way with 6 bed dorms). No showers available on this day.
What’s accommodation like on second night?
Accommodation is the most basic you can imagine as we are in the middle of nowhere. Houses were built the best their owners could do it and water supply is almost non-existent, that is why you will have to use a bucket in order to flush toilet. No showers available at all. No heating either so you must bring your own sleeping bag. 1 duvet and 2 blankets are provided though.
Although the place will be clean for our visitors.
The only option for better accommodation is the one already stated by paying 200 usd extra per person. There is no way to just upgrade 2nd night.
Couples wanting to have the 6 bed room only for them can get one room by paying 150 Bs extra per person.
On this day some persons of the group will cross the border to Chile and others will continue back to Uyuni. Read carefully the programme for this day.
05:30 Early drive to El Sol de mañana where you will see Geysers to then continue to Polkes Chalviry Salt Lake where you will be able to get into the Hot Springs where outside can be minus cero and believe it or not, water is 38 celsius!
08:30 Green Lagoon, this is the extreme South of the Country, from here we will head back up to Uyuni.
09:30 FOR THOSE GOING TO SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA (Chile). Inmigration office is only open for one hour and here you will be driven to the inmigration control and you will pay 15 Bs to get out of the country. Your transfer to San Pedro is organised by us and included!. Once you do the border crossing you will get on the Bus to San Pedro (1hr). Don’t forget that Chile is one hour ahead so change your watches.
16:30 Arrive in Uyuni.
Arriving in Uyuni at this time gives you enough time to get on one of the buses leaving for La Paz at 20:00 , Potosí or Sucre at 19:00 & 20:00 Ask at our office so that we can organise your bus tickets aswell.
Or ask your guide to arrange it for you until the morning of the second day. Buses are frequently full when you want to get on them the same day.
For those wanting to go to Calama-Chile after arriving in Uyuni, there is a bus leaving every day at 05:00 a.m. for what tickets must be purchased before starting the tour. This bus is always fully booked two days before departure.

Groups of 5 people will be confirmed for the date advertised straight away or with 3 days notice for a date not advertised on the Set Departures section.
