Salkantay Trek & Machu Picchu

5 days / 4 nights

Salkantay is the name of an amazing snow caped mountain. During 4 days you’ll have one of the best treks in South America. On the fifth day you will see Macchu Picchu.


1st day.- 05:30 a.m. Early pick up to then have a 3 hrs ride to Mollepata 2900 m. which is the place from where we will start our walk. After breakfast we will start our long but slow trek to Silca. Lunch. Then we will head to Soraypampa 3700 m. Camping 4 – 5 hrs walk

2nd day.- We start the walk heading to Salkantay pass, We’ll walk through grasslands.

From the pass, the view is simply overwhelming. Later and after lunch we will walk down hill to Colpabamba 3300 m. Camping 5 – 7 hrs walk

3rd day.- On this day scenery  will change dramatically, from Mountains to the jungle

Finally we will get to Lucmabamba where we will spend the night. 5-6 hrs walk

4th day.- The trek on this day takes 3hrs approx. We’ll head to Santa Teresa where after lunch the group will walk to Aguas Calientes, this Village is at the base of Machu Picchu. Free time to enjoy the hot springs.

5th day.- We will walk to Machu Picchu early in the morning to spend the day there until 3 in the afternoon. Our Train for Cuzco leaves at 4 p.m.
